Due to a slip-out of Hwy 1 on March 30, the road is currently open to all traffic during two convoy times at 7am and 5pm daily. Traveling in and out of Big Sur from Carmel outside of convoy windows is not possible at this time until the expected opening on May 25 2024. Read more about the current road status here.
